Isaac Li

Dr. Isaac Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at UBC Okanagan. He is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in single-molecule biophysics and mechanobiology and a Michael Smith Scholar.

Dr. Li received his PhD at the University of Toronto (Chemistry), MASc at the University of Toronto (Biomedical Engineering), and BASc at the University of Toronto (Engineering Science). His main research interests are single-molecule biophysics, DNA nano and biotechnology, biosensors, cancer and immune cell biology, and cell mechanics and mechanobiology. In the Li Lab, Dr. Li’s team builds DNA-based molecular tools to study how cells physically interact using single-molecule and quantitative imaging. These tools are deployed to study mechanical processes involved in cancer and immune systems.
