The use of big data in health care is revolutionizing a higher standard in patient care. Our team recognizes that analyzing big data—complex collections of structured, unstructured and semi-structured data that grows exponentially over time—has the potential to reveal patterns and trends to improve patient diagnosis, identify health disparities, accelerate preventative care methods and create more opportunities for personalized treatment options.

A partnership between UBC Okanagan, BC Cancer and Interior Health, the AiMS Institute’s unique structure enables our team of researchers to collaboratively investigate solutions to challenges identified in the clinical environment and then directly implement solutions.

Our goal is to improve the lives of people seeking medical care, in both urban and remote locations throughout the world, through the use of big data analytics and technological advancements in the natural sciences and engineering.
